What is the
Chattanooga Public Library Foundation?
The Chattanooga Public Library Foundation, formerly known as The Friends of the Chattanooga Public Library, fosters awareness and generates community support for the work of the Chattanooga Public Library and the great resources it provides to our community. The Foundation advocates for the programs and services of the Library, deploys community volunteers, and partners with the Library in their mission to be a catalyst for life-long learning.

Since 1965, The Foundation has offered support and advocacy for the Chattanooga Public Library. For over 50 years, we have provided over $1,000,000 in support through used book sales, events, memberships, and generous community donations. Additionally, we have established an endowment to ensure that our work can continue for many years to come. Through the pioneering spirit of its founders, year over year we recruit board members and committee volunteers who are widely respected in the community and give countless hours to advance our mission.
